Avoid Google Adsense

Out of the blue, a few weeks ago, Google closed our Adsense account because there was some suspicious activity or something. They wouldn’t really explain what had happened so we could respond to it but we filed an appeal. Today an email arrives saying they’ve rejected the appeal:

Thanks for providing us with additional information. However, after
thoroughly reviewing your account data and taking your feedback into
consideration, we’ve re-confirmed that your account poses a significant
risk to our advertisers. For this reason, we’re unable to reinstate your
account. Thank you for your understanding.

I know Google Adsense makes a lot of money for many people who run web sites and we were happy with the service up until this point. It never made us any significant amount of money but at least something was coming in.

What upsets me is not really the closure in itself, it’s the lack of information and transparency. I think at the very least they should provide a real contact person with which I could discuss this with so I could understand what’s happened and possibly do something about it. Unfortunately, as big a Google fan as I am, a lot of my enthusiasm for Google is now lost, possibly forever.

And “thank you for your understanding”? How the heck am I supposed to be understanding when they’ve not explained anything, not given any information that I can do anything with, and left me no possible course of action at all?
